We have an excellent opportunity for a Director of Catering to join our team!  The Director of Catering will report to the Director of Sales & Marketing.  Responsibilities include managing all aspects of catering operations including the selling of food & beverage functions, conferences, banquets and events. You will also help to create a desired work culture around our Winning Ways and embrace the IHG Commitment.

Responsibilities: 
  • Take responsibility for the co-ordination and monitoring of all meetings and conventions
  • Ensure contracts are completed and revised and send promptly
  • Manage the standards and procedures of the department
  • Ensure that business contract has been signed prior to the commencement of the event
  • Coordinate the allocation of space for the conference and associated events
  • Conduct room familiarizations and site inspections
  • Monitor competitors’ activities
  • Maintain and develop good contacts with business generators, meeting and conference planners, Visitors/ Conference Bureau, travel agents, tour operators, airlines and corporate accounts
  • Ensure maximum departmental profit is achieved
  • Actively participates in the weekly yield and revenue meetings.
  • Presenting latest status reports and proposing tactical activities to ensure maximum occupancy of banquet space
  • Plays a key role in creating the catering budget, Sales & Marketing and Revenue Planning

Requirements:
  • Minimum 8 years of catering sales experience in the hotel industry
  • Degree/Diploma in Hotel Management would be an added advantage
  • Strong leadership qualities with the passion to excel
  • Good organizational skills with excellent follow-up ability
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
